From Los Angeles County: Take Interstate 10 east to the Running Springs exit in Redlands (junction of Highway 30 and 330). Follow Highway 30 to Highway 330 to Highway 18 and turn right across the dam.

From San Diego County: Take Interstate 15 north to Interstate 215 north. Then take Interstate 10 east to the Running Springs, exit in Redlands (junction of Highway 30 and 330). Follow Highway 30 to Highway 330 to Highway 18 and turn right across the dam.

From the High Desert: Take Interstate 15 north or south to Victorville. Exit on Bear Valley Road and go east to Lucerne Valley. Turn right on Highway 18. Follow Highway 18 to Big Bear Lake.

From Palm Springs: Take Interstate 10 west to the Running Springs exit in Redlands (junction of Highway 30 and 330). Follow Highway 30 to Highway 330 to Highway 18 and turn right across the dam.

Alternative Route from Interstate 10: Interstate 10 to Orange Street. Turn north onto Orange St. Turn right onto Lugonia Ave. Follow Lugonia Ave. through Mentone and onto Highway 38. Follow Highway 38 to Big Bear Lake.
